Are We There Yet?

As travel games lose their appeal and restless boredom takes over, a long trip with children is often punctuated with the familiar “Are we there yet?” sometimes even adults lose their enthusiasm while traveling. Demands of family, jobs, and social pressure make the journey of life difficult. Enthusiasm during the trip changes from expectation to a cloudy prospect too dreary to dwell on. Jesus knew that we would feel this way sometimes---even on our daily walk with Him. To encourage us, before He died Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions…I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:1-2). Knowing our Lord is waiting to welcome us at our journey’s end lessens the impact of detours and frustrations encountered along the way. Let’s just relax and enjoy the trip.
