The Cost of Freedom

As the generations pass, it becomes easier and easier to take the sacrifices of our forefathers for granted. The very comfort and freedom they died to give makes us numb to the remembrance of their deeds; yet our own lives are just as precious as the lives that were lost to protect us. How we need to remember to honor those who gave all they had! Sometimes, as we walk with Jesus, we can take His sacrifice for granted as well. We have heard the Easter story so many times that we are jaded by repetition---yet He died to save our souls! Deuteronomy 32:7 says, Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations. Let us remember that our comfort, safety and salvation were bought with lives---a price neither Jesus nor our forefathers were afraid to pay for love of generations to come.
