Message from Mama

When the beloved mother of a large family passed away at age eighty-six, Mama’s family recalled her faith. An open Bible was often in her hands and its message of faith and trust ever in her words. Even though Mama could seem overzealous at times, all understood she had their best interests at heart. Mama’s only daughter inherited her cherished, but worn, Bible. Cracking open its pages she noted that in Mama’s last year she had begun dating the verse where she left off each day while reading through the Bible. Her last entry was made only hours before she was brought to the hospital. It was beside 2 Corinthians 1:9; But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. From the very portal of heaven Mama once again reminded her loved ones where to place their trust.
