The Open Door

Two young sparrows had flown into the screen-house and were frantically flying against the walls trying to escape. One was caught and released; the other continued to fly about. Eventually, it flew under the flap at the edge of the tent and escaped under the tent wall---right into the jaws of the dog that been outside watching the whole episode! Fortunately, the surprised dog dropped the bird and it flew away. Jesus said, I am the door: by me if any man center in, he shall be saved (John 10:9). The Lord promises release from sin, and guidance when we are overwhelmed, but often we are too busy trying to free ourselves and miss the open door. Or, we leave through an exit other than the Door and find ourselves in an even more serious entanglement. Fortunately, Jesus always keeps the door open wide. We only need to walk through it.
