| My
friend is so dependent on her wristwatch that she will go back
home to get it, even if it makes her late. It seems a bad trade:
giving up precious time for a method to measure it. How many of
us, though, trade away the eternal for the fleeting? I slip
into the habit of thinking that busy equals meaningful. I have no
time to sit and listen to my God. The schedule is full---the
heart, empty. Time spent with God is eternal. I want a God so
immense that He embraces me in all circumstances, so merciful He
forgets the past and helps me see the future, a God who can be
experienced in every moment yet lives into eternity. I want to say
from my heart. Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand (Psalm
31:14-15). Another watch will not help: I want more TIME. Time
with God.
